Welcome to the Enter Sadmen Hall of Fame

Welcome to the ultimate list of the best hard rock and heavy metal albums of all time.

Unlike other lists you may stumble across, this is a living, evolving ranking determined by the scores allocated to the albums that feature on the Enter Sadmen podcast.

In each episode three new albums are reviewed and rated - track by track - and then ranked in the Enter Sadmen Hall of Fame based on the average of the three scores given by Mark, Richard and Steve. This means the rankings change every week, so be sure to visit regularly to see the new entries.

Method

We each listen to, review and then rate every track on every album. The only exceptions are those tracks that are either under 60 seconds in length or are obviously intended as interludes, transitions or interstitials.

The scores for each track are then added together and divided by the number of tracks on the album to give individual average scores for the album as a whole. These individual album scores are then added together and divided by 3 to give one overall average album score.

Ties

Where two or more albums are tied, the cumulative total score for each album’s top three scoring tracks determines its relative position.
